Synopsis

          Branagay Lower Sto. Niño is at the southern part of the Municipalality bounded in the North by Salug River, and onthe South by Dipolo River. It Used to be a barrio and was occupied by the Subanons whol cultivated the area and planted with corn, and mainly rice. It is considered today as one of the rice granaries of the country.

 

          It was in 1972, when it became a seperate barangay from Upper Sto. Niño with a total land area of 455.25 hectares. It is presently composed of 7 puroks wih their respective purok leaders. They rely solely on their Baranagay Officials for assistance in resolvong emergency problems and all means for the purpose of development Lower Sto. Niño is considered as the least developed barangay in the Municipality of Mahayag. They remain an agricultural land with the people living a simple life.

It was with great distinction that "9 Atenean medical students" accepted the challenge, of fulfilling a 4 year mission in Barangay Lower Sto. NiÅ„o of Mahayag to help change and uplift the people's lives through a pure and holistic approach, with perseverance and  commitment towards a "healthy and empowered community, with a sustainable life filled with dedication."
